Does the Sash Still Move?
A functioning sash, a fixed pane and a window painted shut may look similar until the cleaning begins. The difference affects which surfaces can be reached, whether a screen can be handled normally and how the interior and exterior glass should be quoted.

Character Windows Can Collect Marks in Different Places
Older sash windows often have several edges, meeting rails and surrounding timber details within one opening. Dirt may sit on the pane, gather around the lower section or remain visible where the two sashes overlap.
The upper glass may catch exterior marks in direct light, while the lower pane shows fingerprints and ordinary indoor use. If the window opens, the cleaner may be able to reach areas that remain hidden when the sash is closed. If it no longer moves, the clean must respond to the surfaces that remain available.

Screens also affect the work. A removable flyscreen differs from a fixed security screen, and no screen should be forced from its frame simply to reach the glass behind it. Suitable screens may be cleaned where quoted, while damaged mesh, bent frames or broken latches require a separate decision.
Coated, tinted or specialist glass should be disclosed before cleaning so the surface can be considered correctly. Standard window cleaning is intended for ordinary dirt, not for repairing scratches, failed seals or damaged window components.

One-off cleaning may suit an overdue property, move, gathering or presentation deadline. Recurring work can help maintain frequently used doors and exposed panes before they return to the same visibly marked condition.

I highly recommend Platinum Window Cleaning. We had the windows in three bedrooms and two bathrooms in our 3rd floor apartment, floor-to-ceiling 3 & 5 glass panel bifold doors, and glass balcony ballustrades cleaned this morning, on time and expertly done. So expert in fact, that I thought he'd left one of the windows out - it was that clean I had to rap my knuckles on it to make sure it was there. They also cleaned the 17-glass louvre cassette in the main bedroom, the adjustable louvred kitchen window awning, and, outside of the quoted scope, they cleaned four full length bedroom sliding mirror doors. On top of all that, all window tracks were cleaned and vacuumed. Absolutely stoked with their efforts and I reckon I'll be calling them again in 6 months!
